Ferrochromium is produced from condensation, enrichment, pelletizing and sintering of chromium ore in smelting treatment. Ferro chromium is mainly used in manufacture of stainless steel, hard steel as well as some high priced alloys which increases their erosion resistance. It is also used for coating and creating a hard beautiful surface as well as increasing the corrosion resistance. Other applications are in castings for manufacture of steel, iron, glass, cement, ceramics, machines; coating; reduction of rust; metal varnishing; pigments; tanning compounds and wood protection.
