Durng the castng process, the lqud metal that wll fll the gaps as a result of volumetrc shrnkage of the soldfed metal has to be present n the system.Lqud metal feedng from a source (reservor) of these gaps, resultng from the shrnkage s called feedng of the mouldng and ths lqud metal source s called, feeder. The molten metal contaned n the feeders must be kept n lqud form untl the man castng pece gets sold, and must be soldfed after the castng pece. In a process of castng pece producton, the feeders must fulfll the man condtons stated below:*  The feeders must be soldfed obvously after the castng pece.

*  The feeders must have the lqud metal capacty that wll meet the shrnkage of the castng pece.

*  In a feeder desgn, the number, the sze and the dsjuncture cost of the feeders must be mnmum.

*  The  feeders  must  be  desgned  to  comply  wth  the  feedng  dstance  specfcatons  and preferred soldaton.
